Kawasaki Motorcycle
Kawasaki produced its first motorcycle in 1954 under the name of Meihatsu and in 1960 opened its first motorcycle dedicated plant and quickly built a reputation for building the most powerful engines on two wheels including the long lived Ninja series the KX and KLR motocross and dual purpose enduro models and the ZX lineup. In 2001 Kawasaki formed a limited association with Suzuki to share resources streamline development and cross-sell rebranded models. This arrangement has mostly been relegated to history with the exception of the 400cc off-road model DRZ/KLX. Kawasaki remains focused on the street bike segment offering both retro cruisers such as the Vulcan and what is claimed to be the worlds fastest production bike the 186 mph Ninja ZX14.
